For as long as I can remember, my work has questioned;

often the fine balance between humans v. nature.  I have pondered what is thought of as progressive and correct.

My work took a turn from focusing on what humans do to nature towards filtering through my own emotions and thoughts. This started when I lived in India. I noticed myself suppressing thoughts in order to deal with the chaos of India itself.  At one point, I turned the camera on myself for 180 days photographing after school each day, including text from my raw emotions within a canvas of nine images. Nine is an auspicious number in India. 1+8+0=9, perhaps signifying something good coming my way.

I have moved from India, but one thing that has stayed constant over the last few years is the chaos - now of having a family. I find myself flooded with ideas without enough time to filter through. When I find some quiet time, I ask questions, which in turn, create my own egocentric philosophies, theories and definitions of the basics: birth, life, death- always an exploration in thought. I often include text or scans from old scientific books as an added layer for thought and aesthetics.
